Create a website and brand with Hostgator 4

It’s really exciting when you can create something and call it your own. You own it and it will be forever associated with your name and it can be your legacy. If you haven’t picked up on what I am talking about so far I am talking about creating a brand which can be your brainchild.

It was once very costly to do such things but you can create a startup in the 21st century for less than $100. I was where you are right now a few years ago and making a bunch of excuses for myself. I finally took the plunge and did not look back. Today I am proud of my website and brand: BlogTechTips.com which serves a variety of clients from all over the world. To think I might not have started is now a scary thought. Not taking action could be keeping you away from greatness.

You can do it too!

I am sure you are reading this and thinking yeah right. I don’t have enough time. I have to do this and that. Even if I decide to do it what would I create my brand around. Well let me tell you it really does not matter. You only need to think about your greatest passion that you have such as reading, finance, cars or whatever.

Now come up with a problem others having in that field and see how you can solve it for them. I am sure you are very knowledgeable about something that people always come to you about solving for them. Well then that’s it. You can create a website or blog around that central idea and start posting helpful articles showing or demonstrating how it done so others can do it too.My brand started from that simple idea of helping others.

How do I get started?

I would not be where I am today or my brand would not be so successful without good Hosting. I personally use Hostgator to host my website. I love them as they are very affordable and best of all very reliable. So let me show you how to Create a website and brand with Hostgator right now. Its easy and once you invest a small amount in the future with patience and love that can return to you several fold like you would not believe. Here is my first payback way back when I first started out. So lets get started on this great journey together:

STEP 1: Purchase Hosting

Websites have to be kept somewhere and they have to be up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To do so we advise you to leave it up to the experts they require a small monthly or yearly fee and they will keep your website stored and online for you. As mentioned earlier I recommend you go to HostGator.

Once you are on the Hostgator website find the : Get started Now! or just get started option. It’s easy to find and you should have no issue. Next you will be presented with a variety of options to choose from as your first Hosting Package.

The options include: Hatchling, Baby Plan and Business Plan. If things look slightly different don’t worry as Hostgator changes the wording and look a bit sometimes. All plans usually remain the same in name though. My recommendation is that you choose the Baby Plan, this way you can host your main website and if you choose in the future you can add another website or blog to your portfolio as you like. So once you decide choose sign-up beneath the appropriate section.

STEP 2: Name your Brand or choose a Domain name

A Domain name is the way others will find you on the internet. It’s a permanent address at which your website can always be found such as www.website.com . Make sure whatever name you choose relates to what your website is about or you can create a unique name and brand and build it up. It’s all up to you. You can start tying names and see if its available, you will need to find one that available.

I recommend you find a .com domain and you can also consider a .org which are preferred. Others will also work well but in my experience those domain are easier to remember and tend to do well so bear that in mind.

STEP 3:Get 40% off Your First Hosting Package with HostGator:

To make things even better for you when you choose your domain and fill out all the info on the page be sure to scroll down and where it says Coupon code. Remove the current coupon and enter this code exactly: BlogTechTips40 and hit validate.

Once you do that the discount of 40% will be reflected on your purchase and this is much better than the 20% discount you would have received with the normal code. The other fields simply need to be filled in and when it comes to additional services you can choose any one that you like, ultimately you can deselect them all or if you see one that’s needed by you personally you can select it. You can go ahead and complete your order once you are satisfied with the completed form and your final price.

STEP 4: Install WordPress on your new domain

It will take a while for things to get prepared but you will receive an email containing information about your account and how to log into CPanel and Hostgator Billing. You will eventually receive an email with your Cpanel password and login details,go ahead and go to the link and input your user name and password and log into Cpanel.

1.From here once you get in simply look for Quick install, it should be under software and services. Now on the next page or window choose Install WordPress. Choose the free option.

2. From the form select your domain name from earlier, input email, Admin user, name and install WordPress. You will be given some options of themes and so on you don’t need them so you can skip that.

3. When you are notified that the install is complete you should be given a link and User name and password. You can go ahead and click on the link and log in. It’s a good idea to record your login info in a safe place.

4. Wallah you should now be logged into your brand new website dashboard.

Step 5: Start Creating

You can now start creating content and sharing it with the world. To create your first post simply look in the left panel of WordPress and click on Post and add new. Just like any word processing sheet you can type and format your post and save it. When you are ready you can simply publish to make it available to the world. You can add video, pictures and much more to articles to make them look really nice.

To see your website and what it look like along with your posts either type in the URL or address in the address bar of a new tab or hover the cursor over the name of the website in the upper left of the screen from WordPress dashboard and choose visit site. That about it from here you can take your time learning the ins and outs of writing and with practice your brand will grow you only need stick with it.

I do hope you leaned something about brand creation, also if this was useful don’t be selfish share this with a friend on social media. Also if you have any questions feel free to ask below in the comments I am always willing and able to help out in any way I can.

Great to hear from you Nasri Ramadhan you have two payment options its either through a credit card or PayPal. You will pay roughly US $133.31 for a year of hosting and if you use my coupon code you can get 30% off. My suggestion is you need to get a credit card or PayPal account with funds and you can create your website from there. Also if you have a friend with either you may be able to pay them in your local currency and have them use their card or PayPal to checkout and complete the transaction for you. -Best of luck.
