Hide message content on lock screen iPhone


There you go again, you have the latest iPhone and you are trying to have it setup just right. One of the things you don’t want is for your messages to be read on the lock Screen by anyone that has your phone.

They will do just that unless you make it that the content of your messages is only shown when your iPhone is unlocked or you have it in hand. So follow along as I show you How to hide message content on lock screen iPhone.

As a bonus I will also show you how to customize all notifications especially for those annoying apps and only get notifications you want and you want it.

What devices does this apply to?

This applies to any iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro max, iPhone X, iPhone 8,iPhone 7 and so on. This was written with iOS 13 in mind.

How to Hide Lock Screen Messages?

1.Go to settings.

2.Next Go to Notifications.

3.Under: Show Previews set this to When Unlocked. Meaning the only way to see messages or the content is when your phone is unlocked. Messages or Notifications will show but only you can read them.

Bonus: Customize Notifications

While still in Settings, Notifications to control what messages you see from any app including annoying Games or other Apps:

1.Select your Game or App from the list you want to control Notifications for.

2. Either disable Allow Notifications totally.

or

3.Check or disable weather to Show notifications on Lock Screen, banners etc. or weather to play sound or show Badges.

You can even customize How previews are shown on the lock screen for that App specifically.
