How to check for Updates on MacBook Air and Pro?


To keep your device running smooth as possible you will realize that you need to make sure that your Mac is updated on the regular.

Its with that being said that you will need to check for updates. Even with Automatic updates set to install on their own I find that checking tends to get you updates that much faster and it couldn’t hurt considering your security is super important.

I have outlined here all you need to know in order to carry out the process yourself.

The process is demonstrated on the new Macbook Air M1 and do note that this applies to the Macbook Pro as well.

How to Check for Updates on Mac?

In order to check for updates do the following.

1.Click on the Apple logo.

2.Next click About this Mac

3.Now on the Window that appears click on :Software Update.

4.If there is a update read and update, also check the box beside Automatically keep my Mac up to date so that your device will check for updates automatically.
